The original song is called “Auld Lang Syne”, which is Scottish folk song and edited triple time version became typical background music for letting customer to know public facilities or business space closing.

In 1956, record of “the Farewell Waltz” that edited into triple time waltz from original song became hit and “Auld land Syne” is now fixed as farewell song.

Actually sometime this farewell melody plays at Tokyo Disneyland.

When do you think this sad melody plays at dreamland?

The answer is at ceremony of “Countdown Party”.

It is a special event that holds at Tokyo Disneyland from December 31st 8pm to January 1st 2am.

“Countdown Party” became an annual event since 1993, but during this song plays for 2 minutes and half 3minutes before the countdown during the ceremony of event.

When speaking “Auld Lang Syne” is usually sang by all singers for the ending of “NHK Kohaku Utagassen”
