Tokyo Disneyland was opened on April 15th, 1983.

It has been over 30 years since and now Tokyo DisneySea is added that it became “Tokyo Disney Resort” that every single Japanese knows and grown to Resort facility group.

So, number of attractions or restaurants was less than now at Tokyo Disneyland when it opened, but also the number of theme lands were less than now too.

As of 2014 the number of Tokyo Disneyland theme lands are 7, which includes World Bazaar, Tomorrowland, Fantasyland, Westernland, Adventureland, Critter Country, and Toontown, but when Tokyo Disneyland opened there was only 5.

The theme lands that added later on are 2, which are Critter Country and ToonTown. Critter Country was opened on October 1st, 1992 and Toontown on April 15th, 1996.

And in 2000, Ikspiari and Disney Ambassador Hotel was built, in 2001, Tokyo DisneySea and Hotel MiraCosta was completed, and Tokyo Disney Resort Line was opened, and in 2008, Disneyland Hotel was built. Tokyo Disney Resort never stops growing.

By the way, on October 30th, 2014 Oriental Land officially decided development of Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea from March of 2015 to March of 2024.

The main tasks are ” redeveloping the Fantasyland” of Tokyo Disneyland and “developing new theme port” at Tokyo DisneySea Lost River Delta’s south side of extended area.

It is very exciting that both parks are planning to introduce large attractions, restaurants, or shops.

Other than that Oriental Land is considering introduce and renovate new attractions and entertainments and planning to approach the issue of restaurant’s congestion reducing and temperature countermeasure like warmness or coldness that guests can spend pleasant time.

Because Tokyo Disney Resort is continuously growing and changing according to the needs of the time, so guests never gets bored but find new things.
